Hello!

We will spend 5 days in Greece in July, and we want to photograph as many Ikarus buses as possible during this time. I would like to ask you for accurate information so that we can fill out the trip as meaningfully as possible.
My questions are:
- Is the Ikarus 405 in Alimos still in operation? This year, the photo of Ikarus was replaced by a Karsan brand bus in the timetable on the municipality's website.
- Which municipalities around Athens still operate Ikarus E91 buses? The ones I found are Petristeri (one red E91) and Nea Filadelfia (here on the satellite image I found 3 E91s at the site, are they still in operation?) Could you perhaps send me the bus timetables of the two municipalities by e-mail?
- Can Ikarus 260 buses in a dilapidated condition still be found around Athens?

I'm very happy for any help!

Unfortunately, none of the municipalities I contacted responded to my letters...

Best regards

Good day, hello, hi everyone!

I'm so happy to have found your forum as it is ever so challenging to collect any data on public transport in Greece!
I'm an Ikarus enthusiast from Poland. With this post I'd like to ask you about the current Ikarus fleet still in service.
I'm aware of a little Ikarus 405 KHY-5776 operating every summer in Alimos, I was actually lucky to discover its route two years ago (photos if anyone interested here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/fgkm/album...5722782183)

But there are more Ikarus 405 in Greece, aren't there? For example the KHI-3696: https://www.flickr.com/photos/154594097@...504133444/
I have also found an Ikarus 417 from 2019 in your gallery: https://leoforeia.gr/photos/displayimage.php?pid=16004

So I guess my question is... Is it still possible to catch any Ikarus 400 series in Greece (school period) in places like Patras and others?

Any kind of information will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards from Poland!

Hello everyone, I am a transport enthusiast from Russia, and am the editor of the Russian website Fotobus. After several trips to Greece, I became interested in local transport, but there is not much information in the public domain. I'd like to ask you a few questions:

1. Is it possible to find out information on the bus, having its license plate? I asked this question from several people, but they answered me that it is possible to do this only through an "operator" - as I understand it, this is not available for an ordinary person?
I found documents for insurance of buses of municipalities, where in addition to all VIN and the year was written. Can I find this information on the buses of any municipality?

2. Are there lists of all KTEL and AKTEL somewhere? I'm not sure if all KTELs are displayed in the gallery... I am also interested in any information on them - when they were created, what routes they serve, etc. I will be glad for any information that you can provide me!

3. Are there any lists of KTEL or AKTEL buses? I have several lists, but they are not as complete as I would like, maybe some KTEL have separate lists compiled by enthusiasts? I saw pages on the forum where AKTEL buses are discussed (replacements, new buses, etc.), but since everything is in Greek, putting everything together is too difficult for me.
If you have information about any specific AKTEL with the dates of replacement / addition of buses, then it would be very useful for me!

I have a lot of specific questions about certain KTEL and some buses, and I would like to ask about them, but it would be much easier for me to do it by e-mail.
I will be glad for any help that will help me understand the transport of Greece! I just started filling out the Greece page on the Fotobus, my beginnings can be viewed here: http://fotobus.msk.ru/city/174 . I haven't added much information yet, but if you find any inaccuracies, please write to me about it!

Thanks a lot in advance for any help and information you can give me. If you can email me - reshzz@ya.ru . And, of course, if you are interested in something about Russian transport, you can ask me about it - I will do my best
Have anybody information about that bus?:

This vehicle is an especial bus, because it was the first own product of an Hungarian manufacturer. Here, in Hungary we know few information about that. It was saled to Germany in 1992 ( license plate: ZP-P 481). This bus was the fleet of "Autobus GmbH Sachsen, Regionalverkehr Chemnitz" between 1993 and 1999.
From 2000 to 2003 it was the property of Döhler-Reisen(C-DR 134). Later, it was saled to Greece. We do not know more about it. Can anybody help me in this search? Do anybody know something of the Greek owner?
The maufacturer of the bus was closed (Ikarus Egyedi Autóbuszgyár/ Ikarus EAG) at the end of the year 2007, but few month ago it has arised. I want to find the first own pruduct of this factory.

Hello busfriends,

I am a busdriver in the Netherlands and during hollidays I travel to other counties in the world to search for former Dutch busses or busses build in Holland. I am plannind to make a trip to Albania and Greece in september. Is there anyone who can tell me if the Den Oudsten busses are still running in Athens, maybe also on sundays and are they running on special routes, or can you find them everywhere in the city? And are there more former Dutch busses running somewhere in Greece?

While browsing the Leoforeia's gallery I've noticed an interesting vehicle :-)
Can anybody give me some detailed information e.g. about the time of arrival, the year of built or in best case the chassis-number?
Does anyone have another picture of this bus?

Hi there!

My name is Kristian, I'm from Germany and I really like to hunt for former german buses in foreign countries ;-)
When I was 13 years old (2002), we spent our holidays on Crete. I remember that there were a lot of MAN SL200 and Mercedes-Benz O 305 in service, all in good condition concerning to the age of them. My preference for former german buses wasn't as distinctive as it is today, but I made three photos of them in Amudara.
A friend of mine (also buslover) is going to spend 10 days in july at Crete. The photos I saw in the Leo's gallery show that there might be no more old Mercedes or MAN at all!? Can anybody tell me what has happened to them? Back then the isle was full of them :-) Maybe they are standing demolished on a scrapyard? We are very interested in it.

Thanks a lot for helping.
